In close collaboration with founder and CEO Thomas Raffeiner, the board of directors of The Mobility House has appointed the experienced manager and current COO, Robert Hienz, as the new Chief Executive Officer. Starting 15 January 2021, Hienz will begin managing the business operations of The Mobility House as CEO and chair of the management team. As a pioneer with a vision of connecting renewable energies and electric vehicles, founder Thomas Raffeiner will be focusing even more intensely on the company’s strategic development. Furthermore, he will fulfill his role as delegate of the board of directors and will thus remain both a member of the board of directors and part of the executive board, in accordance with the Swiss Code of Obligations.

With full conviction and the vision of a zero-emission future, I founded The Mobility House eleven years ago. Together with a unique team and despite many hurdles, we have turned The Mobility House into the international pioneer of electromobility. It is with great pleasure that I hand over the reins to Robert Hienz. He is the perfect man to lead The Mobility House into new dimensions as CEO,” affirms Thomas Raffeiner.

I am delighted that Thomas Raffeiner and the board of directors have put their faith in me. For me as CEO it is great to conquer the gigantic and by far the most exciting market together with The Mobility House and its great team,” explains Robert Hienz. Before joining The Mobility House, Hienz was engaged in various executive positions in the German and European energy industry for many years, most recently as CEO of E.ON Energie Deutschland GmbH. In June 2019, Robert Hienz joined The Mobility House, where he has played a crucial role in further shaping the structures and the success of the company as COO.

In his new function, Hienz aims to push forward the two established business units and align them even more closely to the corresponding markets and customers. Besides the established charging solution services which The Mobility House is performing in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Hienz has made it his mission to grow the company’s smart charging and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology platform for car manufacturers, energy and e-mobility suppliers. With the well-established Charging and Energy Management system ChargePilot and several successful V2G projects, the foundation has been laid. With this technology, The Mobility House is already charging several thousand electric cars/car batteries both uni- and bidirectionally. “At The Mobility House we support our customers on their path toward electric mobility—today by providing the appropriate charging solution and tomorrow by integrating their vehicle battery into the energy market of the future,” explains Hienz.

The company was founded in 2009 and in the past eleven years it has developed into an internationally leading expert for charging- and energy management solutions. The spectrum ranges from smart charging of large corporate fleets, such as those at Infineon and Bechtle, to coach operators like Transdev/Connexxion and New Flyer, and real estate projects of varying sizes. On top of this, the company collaborates with more than ten major car manufacturers, including Audi, Daimler, Nissan, Renault, SEAT, Škoda, and Volkswagen/Elli.

In Q3/2020, The Mobility House secured investments from two new investors the European Investment Bank and SP Power, a leading energy utilities group in the Asia Pacific. With the participation of the SP Group, a further international pillar will be established in parallel to the already rapidly growing business in the US. For the financial year 2021, the technology company rise with its over 140 employees and locations in Germany, Switzerland, and the USA forecasts a continuation of the rapid sales growth.
