Special Features when Charging Your BMW i8:

The BMW i8 is the sports car among the BMW i plug-in hybrid range and truly stands out with its futuristic design. The battery, with its capacity of 7.1 kWh, takes just 2 hours to charge fully via a wallbox, at a charging power of 3.7 kW. Once the battery is charged, you can look forward to an electric driving range of up to 37 km. The BMW i8 has a type 2 plug. You can charge your BMW i8 via the wallbox or a domestic socket using the matching charging cable. However, for safety reasons, we would advise against charging it regularly via a domestic socket, since charging your car from a domestic socket will place the maximum load on the socket for approximately 2:30 hours. On the other hand, you can charge your car safely and almost twice as quickly using a 3.7 kW wallbox.
