In 2014, Daimler launched its first compact car with fully electric drive in the form of the Sports Tourer B 250 e (formerly known as the B-Class Electric Drive). Depending on your driving style, the season and a maximum speed of up to 160 km/h, you will be able to drive for 200 km (based on the NEDC driving cycle). If you wish, you can increase the driving range to up to 230 km using the RANGE PLUS feature. You can charge the battery via a separately fused 2.3 kW domestic socket using a mode 2 charging cable. For safety reasons, however, you should avoid doing this in the long term, since charging your car from a domestic socket will place the maximum load on the socket for 9 hours. A charging station will not only allow you to charge your Sports Tourer B 250 e safely, but also more than four times as quickly as using a domestic socket.
