The Volkswagen e-Golf in transition - how he and his charging behavior has changed
The Volkswagen e-Golf is the fully electric brother of the classic Golf. The electric car impresses with a 24.2 kWh battery and a realistic driving range of 190 km. Please note that the range may vary slightly depending on road conditions, your driving style and the season (according to NEDC)*. You can charge the Volkswagen e-Golf at home at a charging power of up to 3.6 kW using a wallbox. With a battery capacity of 24.2 kWh and a charging power of 3.6 kW, you will be able to enjoy the full driving range after approximately 7 hours of charging.
You can charge the car using a type 2 plug and also at 2.3 kW with a mode 2 charging cable via a separately fused domestic socket. For safety reasons, however, you should avoid doing this in the long term, since charging your car from a domestic socket will place the maximum load on the socket for approximately 11 hours. The wallbox will not only allow you to charge your Volkswagen e-Golf safely, but also nearly twice as quickly as using a domestic socket.
