The Mobility House and Solar Manager are joining forces in a strategic partnership: Together, the two companies are developing a Home Energy Solution that intelligently connects home energy management, e-mobility and flexibility marketing. While conventional energy management systems optimize individual energy flows, the joint solution is designed to orchestrate the interaction between the home, e-mobility and the energy market. What used to be individual devices will become a connected energy system. What used to be individual households will become a virtual power plant (VPP).
Two complementary areas of expertise, one strong ecosystem
The partnership adds a Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) solution to The Mobility House Energy's longstanding expertise in the aggregation and marketing of battery flexibility from electric vehicles (V2G). Solar Manager contributes its proven Home Energy Management System (HEMS), which already enables households to make optimal use of solar power and control all energy devices independently of manufacturer.
This is exactly where the joint solution from Solar Manager and The Mobility House comes in: It connects energy assets in the home into an intelligent overall system and unlocks their flexibility for the energy market. For this, Solar Manager brings one of Europe's leading manufacturer-independent home energy platforms into the partnership: With more than 700 integrated energy assets the platform connects photovoltaic systems, battery storage, heat pumps, wallboxes and electric vehicles.
By supporting leading device manufacturers, Solar Manager covers around 90 percent of the systems installed in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH). In combination with the energy and marketing technology of The Mobility House Energy, this creates the basis for a decentralized virtual power plant that grows with every connected household. The technological foundation for this development is already present in millions of homes. What has been missing so far is the intelligent integration and orchestration of these energy assets.
The result is a turnkey solution that consistently addresses both sides of the energy system: Behind the meter, it optimizes self-consumption, PV usage and charging management in real time - and in front of the meter, it automatically markets the pooled flexibility of home assets across European electricity markets.
This is made possible by the interaction of Solar Manager's HEMS and The Mobility House Energy's bidirectional charging station, FlexibilityAggregator and FlexibilityTrader: For marketing in front of the meter, the available flexibility of connected home assets is pooled into a virtual power plant, calculated in real time and automatically marketed on the markets with the highest added value - without users having to intervene.
The electric car as the link between the home, the power grid and the energy market
At the center is the intelligent orchestration of all energy assets in the home. The joint solution coordinates energy flows in real time and connects local optimization with participation in the energy market. For customers, this results in significantly reduced energy costs. The full potential is unlocked with bidirectional charging: The electric vehicle evolves from a pure energy consumer into an active energy asset that connects the home, e-mobility and the energy market. Surplus solar power can be stored in the vehicle battery, used in the home when needed (Vehicle-to-Home - V2H) or made available as flexibility for the power grid (Vehicle-to-Grid - V2G).
A central building block for this is The Mobility House's bidirectional DC wallbox ChargeLine BiDi, which not only charges electric vehicles but also makes their batteries usable for the home and the energy market. It combines hardware, intelligent energy management for V2H and V2G, and connection to flexibility marketing - and is designed for broad interoperability with future vehicle classes.
What means autonomy and minimal energy costs for the individual household also makes a measurable contribution to grid-beneficial operation - and thus to the energy transition as a whole. Both partners bring proven expertise to this. The Mobility House Energy has demonstrated experience in implementing V2G: In France, the company implemented the world's first commercial V2G product for end customers together with Renault in 2024. This enables them to save up to EUR 600 a year in charging costs. Further rollouts with several automotive manufacturers in several countries are in progress. This experience feeds directly into the joint solution.
Solar Manager is also one of the pioneers in this field. For several years, the platform has enabled bidirectional use cases (V2H) in Switzerland and was one of the first providers to integrate the technology into a manufacturer-independent Home Energy Management System in Germany. This practical experience forms the foundation for seamlessly integrating the electric vehicle into household optimization and flexibility marketing in the future.
Together, Solar Manager and The Mobility House are creating the conditions to turn the electric car from a means of transport into an active energy asset - and to unlock one of the largest flexibility pools of the energy transition.
A growing market with enormous potential
According to broad consensus in science and industry, batteries in electric vehicles (EVs) will represent the largest pool of flexibility for the energy system - with annual market growth of more than 19 percent. In Germany alone, the vast majority of installed battery capacity is located in private households - accessible via electric vehicles and stationary home storage systems. 76 percent of homeowners with electric vehicles also have their own PV system: enormous potential that has so far remained largely untapped. This is exactly where the Home Energy Solution comes in: The solution makes the electric vehicle battery usable as a central asset in the growing market - as intelligent storage in the home energy system and as an active building block in the energy markets. The solution is aimed at everyone who wants to unlock the full potential of their home energy assets - while also opening up new opportunities for specialist installers to equip their customers with an integrated, future-ready solution.
Outlook
The Home Energy Solution is designed from the outset for collaboration with market partners. Energy suppliers, manufacturers, installers and wholesalers will be able to offer their customers an integrated solution for home energy, e-mobility and flexibility marketing and unlock new business models around distributed energy resources. The solution is currently under development. Further details will be announced step by step. More information will follow in autumn 2026.
"The intelligent integration of all energy assets in the home is the logical next step in the energy transition. In Solar Manager, we have found a partner whose HEMS ideally complements our flexibility marketing technology. Together, we are bringing a solution to market that enables households to optimize behind and in front of the meter at the same time - automatically, economically and with the electric vehicle as the central building block. zero zero not just for the electric car, but for the whole home."
