The first step to successful electrification — away from fossil fuels and towards electrically powered busses — is good planning. The Basler Verkehrsbetriebe agrees. In cooperation with The Mobility House, they carried out a comprehensive study that examined not only the technical and operational requirements, but also the economic consequences of converting to the new system. Along with completing detailed analyses of the bus routes, scheduling requirements and the future energy and power needs of the electric bus fleet, specific hardware and software recommendations were agreed upon and the associated costs calculated.
