Fleet electrification brings record growth for The Mobility House

March 18, 2020|Munich

Electric mobility is making its entry into Germany. New registrations of e-vehicles now stand at 7% – more than twice as high as in 2019 overall (3%). The VDIK (Association of International Motor Vehicle Manufacturers) attributes this to the improved subsidy measures and new electric models.

The Mobility House is also clearly taking notice of this development. In the first months of 2020, the volume of incoming orders increased by more than 100% compared to the previous year. In addition to the existing long-term partnerships with Daimler, Nissan and Renault, many new cooperations and partnerships were signed with automobile manufacturers and dealers, installation service providers as well as charging station or back-end providers. The reason for this overall increase can also be linked to the preparation of many companies for the high-volume model launches of Volkswagen AG and Groupe PSA in the second half of 2019. The fundamental shift towards electric drives is manifesting itself and cannot be stopped even by the current difficult economic situation.

Moreover, the intelligent charging and energy management by the technology company The Mobility House is in high demand due to the limited grid connections at almost all company sites. With the self-developed system, also known as ChargePilot®, not only network expansion and installation costs are saved but also recurring and non-recurring service charges to the network operator of several thousand euros at each location with several charging stations. Especially the open interfaces to leading charging station or backend providers as well as the flexible expansion of the infrastructure meet the requirements of many enquiries and tenders. The simple installation and short amortization period are further convincing features.

More than 200 leading companies with over 1,000 charging stations already trust in the intelligent management of The Mobility House. The system has also proven itself in the electric bus market, with charging capacities of 450kW per bus. Almost 10% of the European electric bus fleet is controlled by ChargePilot®. The increasing interest in the market in all customer groups is also reflected online. More than 120,000 hits per week on www.mobilityhouse.com illustrate the growing need for information and product demand. Furthermore, the 40,000th charging station has been sold or installed.

In terms of cooperations, things are progressing steadily: With Seat and Skoda, other automobile manufacturers trust in The Mobility House's commitment. At the same time, partnerships in the Netherlands, Ireland, Norway and Great Britain are in the implementation phase or have already been realized. In the USA, the team has been expanded to include development and integration engineers and is also working on large fleet projects.

"We are delighted that 10 years of dedication and good work are paying off. However, we are only at the beginning of electromobility and are at the moment even more preparing for the future growth opportunities that are now clearly visible."

Founder and CEO, The Mobility House

For the 2020 financial year, the technology company with its 140 employees is planning an annual turnover of over 12 million euros in total.

In addition to the two business areas charging and energy management as well as charging infrastructure, The Mobility House is also working on the future integration of electric vehicles into the grid. This is shown by the various energy storage projects based on 2nd-use vehicle batteries, the currently completed pilot project with Tennet and Nissan or the realized network interface with Bayernwerk or Stromnetz Hamburg.

"We will only achieve our climate targets if electric mobility becomes an integral part of the energy industry."
