The Mobility House announced today that it has been recognized as a finalist for the 2026 PLMA Awards of Excellence for The FIX Flexible Connection, a project designed to help accelerate electric vehicle fleet and charging infrastructure deployment in New York. The finalist recognition reflects The Mobility House’s work with Itron, supported by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), to demonstrate a flexible service connection approach that can help utilities and fleet operators move forward despite local distribution capacity constraints.
The FIX Flexible Connection integrates Itron’s IntelliFLEX distributed energy resource management system (DERMS) with the automated load management capabilities of The Mobility House’s ChargePilot charge management system. Together, these technologies are designed to manage charging dynamically based on grid conditions, helping fleets operate within site and distribution system limits while maintaining charging functionality for electric vehicles.
As a finalist for PLMA’s 2026 Awards of Excellence, the project is being recognized for its contribution to reliability, performance, and sustainability in energy systems. For The Mobility House, the recognition highlights the value of flexible charging and grid-integrated energy management in helping utilities, public agencies, and fleet operators address one of the most persistent barriers to electrification.
